and the Pork Rinds… I go over the Acceptable Foods for Atkins Induction and Extended Induction phase and personal advice on how to have a successful Induction phase. Having a successful Induction phase of Atkins is so much more than just losing weight. It is about getting your eating under your control again, getting your blood glucose levels stabilized, starting to learn new healthy habits with food, and finally to experience the magic of ketosis to the person needing to lose weight.     No, you aren’t limited in the number of different vegetables per day – simply the total amount of vegetables of each type (salad which you listed above and potentially the “Other” vegetables) every day.

    No liquor (all alcohol) is held off until the 5th rung of OWL phase.

    As for how many eggs is too many, 12-15 is probably too many in one day as most of your carbs should come from veggies. Be sure to count each egg as .6g of carbs.

    Any grated parmesan cheese is fine. I usually buy the cheap store brand for breading this way.

    I have a question, since we are only allowed 3 cups of vegetables in the induction part is it ok to for example add 1 cup of lettuce, 1/2 cup of cucumber, 1/2 cup raddishes, 1/2 cup of jicama, and 1/2 cup of mushrooms?? Or does it HAVE to be 1 cup of only 3 vegetables?

    Both Cream Cheese (max 3 oz of cheese per day) and Cucumbers (salad vegetable) are induction acceptable.

    What type of Parm cheese would i use as a chicken breading? Meaning does it have to be course ground?

    Mayo is fine – look for the one without added sugar if possible. I can usually find at least one brand without sugar on the ingredients label.

    As for Diet Coke, I personally gave up all soda for the first year I was on the diet. I think it is a crutch for a lot of people and was for me. The energy on the diet really comes in in week 2 and 3. So it is best to go without, but for some the aspartame and caffeine do not cause stalls or slower weight loss.

    I personally did not want to risk it.
